Shake Up the Meta: July 2026 "Heart of the Underdog" Ban List Update

Get ready to reinvent your strategy! The July 2026 "Rogue Format" update for the Heart of the Underdog tournament series has arrived, and it brings massive changes that are set to completely reshape our competitive landscape.

A Major Meta Reset

This update isn't just a light touch—it's a fundamental shift. The ban list has been significantly expanded, targeting both individual powerhouse cards and entire archetypes that have dominated the scene.

What's Changed?

Whether you're a dedicated rogue player or looking to find the next big deck, you need to be aware of these major restrictions:

  • Banned Archetypes: A wide array of top-tier strategies have been hit, including Branded, Rolad, Power Patron, Sky Striker, Yummy, All Mulcharmy, Kewl Tune, Radiant Typhoon, Vanquished Soul, Fiendsmith, and Maliss.

  • Key Individual Bans: Several high-impact cards are now restricted, including Fallen of Albaz and Spell Cancellor in the main deck, as well as Tellarknight Ptolemaeus in the Extra Deck.

  • Persistent Threats: The list continues to enforce a strict environment by banning floodgates like Skill Drain, Anti-Spell Fragrance, and all Barrier Statues, as well as oppressive main-deck monsters like Archlord Kristya and Vanity’s Fiend/Ruler.
