Are you tired of being locked into a single series? Do you have dreams of combining your favorite characters from different worlds into one unstoppable deck? Well, get ready to rip up the rulebook, because Open IP has arrived at the shop!

What is Open IP?

Open IP is the high-octane, community-driven format that takes Union Arena to the next level. By removing the strict "one-series" restriction, this format gives you the creative freedom to experiment with wild new engines, surprise win conditions, and cross-franchise synergies that were never possible before.

The Rules of the Game

The core of Union Arena remains, but with a massive twist:

  • Deck Size: You must stick to exactly 50 cards.

  • Color Integrity: Don't go wild on the colors—you still need to follow the standard game color rules.

  • Mix & Match: You have the freedom to build with any IP you want.

  • The 12-Card Rule: To make sure you’re truly tapping into the spirit of the format, your deck must include at least 12 cards from an IP outside of your deck's primary series (Finals are excluded from this count).

Why You Should Play

This isn't about replacing your standard decks; it’s about discovery and breaking the meta. It’s the ultimate playground for those who love to brew, test strange interactions, and find new ways to dominate the field.

We’re keeping the experience fair by following the official North American ban and restriction list, while also keeping a watchful eye on any new, overpowered combos that might emerge.

Think you’ve got the next big combo? Stop by the store, bring your best (or weirdest) deck-building experiment, and let’s see if your cross-IP creation has what it takes to win!
